History of HRA Medical Management, Inc.
Founded by an Emergency Department Director and Physician, James A. Packer,
M.D., FACEP, and former hospital CFO Anthony S. Vacchi, Jr., CHBME, HRA Medical
Management, Inc. (HRA) was founded in December 1993 and immediately began
processing claims for a group of emergency department physicians at a San
Diego medical center. In September 1994, HRA began billing for a group of
more than 250 specialty physicians. Since then, HRA has grown to serve multiple
emergency departments, trauma surgeons, and hospitalist physician groups, and
was one of the first billing companies to start serving hospitalist specialty
groups.
The founders provided leading edge technology and brought together highly
talented people who could contribute their expertise in an environment conducive
to creativity. In addition, HRA's executive level management team originated
from the hospital industry and fully comprehends the hospital's point of reference
in the matter of physician relations, both financially as well as administratively.
HRA provided an atmosphere in which employees could achieve their full potential
using their ingenuity and creativity to transform concepts into practical
solutions. Hard work, determination and adherence to company goals has built
a company where employees now carry out the mission begun by the two enterprising
founders.
